Bringing the Gospel to the World

Welcome!!!

Tom Ekpot Jr. teaches at the School of Biblical Studies in Jos, Nigeria.

This is the Ekpot family, Tom and Sandra, their two sons Goodnews and Godswill. Tom finished his Masters degree at Freed-Hardeman University. He returned to Nigeria to follow in his father's steps and continue his work preaching the Gospel. He continues to teach at the school and preach in local villages and towns on the weekends. Sandra works for the local FedEx office and accompanies Tom to villages on the weekends when possible. All four members of the Ekpot family recently developed Malaria and Typhoid visiting a village and teaching the Gospel. I asked him how this happened. Tom said,"When you are offered something to eat and you refuse, The Bible study stops then." These two diseases are unheard of in the USA but are a daily part of life in Nigeria.

Here is the congregation at Missah Village. Tom has gone here several times. Though the church is of fairly good size, the brethren here are very poor.

The picture on the left is the Church at Samanika Village. Although small, the church continues to meet each Lord's Day. They must rent their meeting place. The rent is $60 per year. The church is Boyd, TX donated the $60 for this year-Thanks Boyd, TX. The picture on the right is the Church at Tadun Wada. Do you see any differences in your church's meeting place and this one?

Part of Tom's job is the education of native preachers. Below are the preachers of Kogi State who came to a workshop Tom traveled to hold.

So much is being done in Nigeria. Tom is kept very busy keeping everything going. Establishing new works, keeping the older ones going, and teaching in the School of Biblical Studies are three full time jobs.
